I wear 336 around my neck but 918 is in my heart. Give me a sec, all of this will make sense soon.
My name is Paige Nicole! Thank you for stopping by and taking some time to get into my life thats full of fun, faith, traveling and living the abundant life. Two weeks ago, I made a 1,000 + mile move from my 20 year hometown in North Carolina (area code 336) to my birth place of Tulsa, Oklahoma (area code 918). Reflecting on this experience has been a journey. This is the biggest faith leap that I have ever made in my 27 years of life. I prayed, fasted and obeyed the Holy Spirit. Do I know why God has me here? Nahhh- I'm not even gone lie to youuu. What I will tell you is that I'm putting my whole weight on God and trusting his plan for my life. This reflection lead me to gratitude. Gratitude led me to celebration. This celebration led me to exploring the city on September 18th: 9-1-8.
While I was getting drinks with my linesister that happened to have a conference in Tulsa- I learned about this new celebration. Although I spent six, almost seven years of my life in the beautiful city, this celebration was news to me. It really served as a day to support small businesses and pour back into the Tulsa community. I used it as a day to do all of that and get cute and be in the streets!
My first stop was Tulsa Botanic Gardens. The views were breathtaking. When we look at nature we can see God's fingerprints all over this world. It's something about the warmth of the sun, the ripples of the water, the whisk of the clouds and the beauty of the flowers that help me feel closer to Christ. Experiencing this alone had me in a contemplative state and all I could do was take it all in. As an extreme extrovert, spending time alone has become my unexpected normal. 2020, pandemic social distancing and God setting me apart- forced me to spend more and more time with Paige Nicole. I was hesitant at first but I'm coming around these days.
After flickin' it up and stoping to smell all of the roses- I made my way downtown. After multiple recommendations I made my way over to Sisserous. LISTENNNNN- I understand why those folx put me on cause bayyyybeee the food did it for me! okeyy?? I won't bore you with all the details but as soon as I tasted the buttered bread with the best hot sauce I've ever tasted in my lifeeee- I knew it was on. All Im'a say is you have to go if you are in the area. It was the coconut shrimp for me and the salmon rasta pasta- 10 out of 10 hands down.
After an eventful and splendid day I brought it back to the crib. On my puppy's final walk of the night I thought about my goals. About my dreams. About the reasons why the Holy Spirit pulled me to this city. There are gifts and talents He has placed in my soul. There is a way that I am supposed to blend lifestyle with faith and travel to reach millennials and show how to live "in" the world but not be "of" the world. Follow me on the journey to the abundant life.
XOXO- Paige Nicole
